Store: A large, square space with a fresh build out. With so many deviations from the genre, it's hard to call it a bagel store. Instead, it's closer to a cafeteria with half the shop dedicated to bagels. There's a distinct second half of the store dedicated to sandwiches, with cafe seating out front and a bathroom available to customers. No effort is made to display spreads or pastries. The bagels are housed in angled wicker baskets in orderly stacks against the wall. It's unclear if the bagels are made on sight, a foreboding sign. Nevertheless, as a place to purchase food the location has its merits. 3.5
Bagel: Medium-large size. One sided toppings, standard with specs of salt. A very pale shell. No taste of the salt on eating, or much taste at all. Physically challenging to chew. Emotionally challenging to swallow. 2.25
Cream Cheese: Served slightly chilled, thinly applied. Good flavor, fresh profile, not too cheesy. Scallions noticeable but not too involved in the texture. Surprisingly quality given the bagel. 3.5
