Store: A moderately sized store with a rectangular setup. Atmosphere-wise, a nice blend of contemporary and classical sensibilities. Beirut's "Elephant Gun" plays on the radio. Black and white photos of Old Queens and NYC hang in the seating area. Strong blue & white menu signage combines vintage Greek diner and bagel shop sensibilities. Robust selection of cream cheeses displayed bountifully in bowls. Strong variety of pastry options available, limited drink selection. Friendly, efficient staff. 4.25
Bagel: A huge bagel, almost the circumference of a small flagel, with an equally large central hole. Served fresh but not hot. Toppings on both sides at high density. Standard topping composition plus oat and the uncommon sunflower seed addition. Light salt crystal presence visually but occasional taste cameos arise. A slight graininess to the dough. On the chewier side of the bite profile but not difficult on the jaw. Points for uniqueness in its size and for the texture oat + sunflower provide. 4
Cream Cheese: Served deli case cool. Even coverage with a slightly thin amount applied. A thicker cut scallion with nice texture contribution and strong flavoring. On the riper side of the dairy spectrum, deployed well - no sensation of overcheese. 3.75
